Joseph F. Clemente, 81, of McKeesport, died March 26, 2024, at UPMC Mercy Hospital.    He was Born July 16, 1942, in McKeesport, the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Supensky) Clemente and husband of Janice Louise (Scarpo) Clemente.
Joseph dedicated 45 years of his life to Allegheny Airlines/US Air, where his unwavering commitment and hard work set an example for all who knew him. Additionally, Joseph served the McKeesport community for over 40 years as a PA State Constable in Allegheny County, embodying a sense of duty and honor in all that he did.
A devout member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church, Joseph found solace and community in his faith. His love for the outdoors and hunting led him to find peace in nature, while his passion for antique and award-winning classic automobiles showcased his appreciation for craftsmanship and beauty.

Those who knew Walter remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest.  He was passionate about dancing and could always be found on the dance floor, sharing a twirl with anyone willing to join him.  His love for socializing extended to his fondness for a good drink, and his enthusiasm made him memorable wherever he went. In addition to his interests in dancing and socializing, Walter was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, cheering on his favorite team with unwavering loyalty.  His dedication to his community, country, and sports team exemplified his commitment to what he loved most in life.

(Ilgenfritz) Snyder, age 83, of Pittsburgh, formerly of McKeesport, died at home on March 22, 2024.  Born August 18, 1940, in Liberty Borough, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Geneieve (Gobel) Ilgenfritz and wife of the late Robert Snyder.  Deloris worked as a Nurses Aide for many years and retired from Liken Home Care.  She was a former member of the McKeesport Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing bingo.

Richard J. Markette, age 66, of McKeesport, died at home on March 23, 2024.  Born September 12, 1957, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Otto and Dolores (Kappler) Markette and husband of Barbara (Peterson) Markette.  Throughout his life, Richard found joy in the simple things, whether tending to his patients with care and compassion at the hospital or scavenging for scrap metal in his spare time.  Richard was not only a skilled caregiver but alsoan active member and steward of Teamsters Local 926, where he found camaraderie and support among his peers.  His dedication extended beyond the workplace, as he dedicated his time to coaching his son in Little League, fostering a love for sports and teamwork.  A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Richard cheered on his favorite team through wins and losses, finding solace and excitement in the game.  He also had a fondness for classic rock music, a passion that brought joy and harmony to his life.

Carter, age 81, of McKeesport, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on March 24, 2024.  Born July 5, 1942, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Louis J. and Vida M. (Laughner) Canova and wife of the late Duane H. Carter, Sr.  Rosalie was a beloved member of the Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church, where she dedicated her life to serving her community as an active member of the Christian Mothers, a Eucharistic Minister, and a devoted teacher of Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults classes.  She was not only a devout member of her parish but also the pillar of her family.  As the family matriarch, she selflessly cared for her parents, in-laws, and children, while also playing an instrumental role in raising and nurturing her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her love and compassion knew no bounds, and her presence brought light and warmth to all who knew her.  Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she touched.

He was the son of Albert E. and Rose Mary (Rice) Mayer.  Bernie served in the United States Army and was the former operator at the former McKeesport Water Authority for over 25 years. He carried a strong faith in God and was a current member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.  He enjoyed riding bikes with his late wife Marcia and was a loving and generous grandfather to Alexander & Tyler Getsy. He was said to be, "Salt of the Earth" by family and friends.Showing the signs of Love, Kindness and generosity.

Mycka, age 61, of McKeesport, died March 17, 2024, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport.  He was born August 19, 1962, in McKeesport, the son of Shirley (Lichka) Mycka and the late Eugene Mycka. Bruce's passion for muscle cars, dirt bikes, and motorcycles was a defining aspect of his life.  His interest in cars was also evident in the meticulous care he took when detailing them.  His love for animals, especially dogs, was apparent in the kindness and care he showed towards them.  Additionally, his mastery of martial arts and karate was a skill that he honed with dedication.

Dorothy was born on April 8, 1929, in Charleroi and dedicated her life as a teacher, shaping the minds of countless young students. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Spisak) Stache and Joseph Stache, and the wife of the late Rev. William E. Ervin, Jr. On March 16, 2024, at the age of 94, Dorothy peacefully passed away at Concordia of Cranberry, leaving behind a legacy of love and wisdom.
Dorothy's devotion to education extended beyond the classroom as she founded the St. John's Christian Pre-School in Thurmont, MD, a testament to her passion for nurturing young minds. Her accomplishments were celebrated at the 40th Anniversary of the school, highlighting her dedication and unwavering commitment to education. Patricia A. Sivak, age 85, of North Versailles, formerly of Port Vue, died peacefully at home on March 13, 2024.  Born October 12, 1938, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Viola (Lineburg) Marcinko and loving wife of 58 years to the late James Sivak.
Her life was marked by a deep faith as a devoted member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and the former St Stephen Church and St. Joseph Church.  Engaging with her community, Pat was involved in various clubs, including the Port Vue Women's Club, Port Vue Seniors, the McKeesport Hospital Auxiliary, the St. Stephen's Christian Mothers and Rosary groups.  She participated in many card clubs.  Pat enjoyed and had special talents in cooking, baking, gardening, and crafting.  She also was a Pittsburgh Steelers season ticket holder for many years and enjoyed attending games with her family.  In addition to caring for her family, she held a variety of secretarial positions throughout her life, including US Steel, Port Vue Borough, and a local shipping company.

Louise C. Atkins, age 86, of McKeesport, died March 10, 2024, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport. Born January 6, 1938, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Angie (Sweeney) Conners and the wife of the late Jim Atkins and Louis Floris.  Louise was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church, and was also involved in various organizations, including the Moose Lodge, Boston Vets, and the American Legion in White Oak and Dravosburg. Her commitment to service and community was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a school bus driver for 40 years for the McKeesport Area School District, and the students affectionately referred to her as Ms. Louise. In her younger years, Louise found joy in simple pleasures, often enjoying nights out to dine and dance with her husband. Her love for life and her dedication to others will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

John David Kurnock, a beloved son, father, and brother, peacefully passed away on March 8, 2024, at the age of 48 in McKeesport. Born on February 17, 1976, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Wanda Guy and the late William Guy.

John's kindness, laughter, and love for his family will be dearly missed. He leaves behind his cherished mother, Wanda Guy; his devoted sister, Wendy (Earl) Goreck; his five loving children, Brookelynn, Tabatha, Kimberlee, Zachary, and Tiffani; his six adoring grandchildren; and his sister Patricia. He is also survived by several nieces, and nephews who will hold his memory close to their hearts.

Along with his father, John was also preceded in death by his grandfather, John Kurnock; grandmother, Sophia Kurnock; and brothers, Walt Goughnour and John Guy.

Roberta (Bert) Lynn Benson, 66, of McKeesport, died peacefully at home on Friday, March 1, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family and her daughters at her side.  Roberta was born August 1, 1957, in McKeesport; she was the daughter of the late Ray and Dolores Jean (Hedley) Suarez and the wife of the late Randy Benson, the love of her life.  She has seen the world in ways not many people ever do.  Even on the gloomy days, her world was full of glitter, rainbows and love.  She saw the good in every person & the beauty in the most insignificant things.  She was thankful for every day she saw the sun shining and heard the birds chirping (or that damn dog, even if she would never admit it).  She never took a single moment for granted.
She found peace & serenity at Geneva on the Lake. She would spend hours looking for beach glass, surrounded by the water's calmness and feeling the sun's warmth.  She touched so many lives by sharing her love, always trying to make everyone's day a little brighter.  She touched many people's lives over the years, working in the Emergency Room at McKeesport Hospital, where she also met dear friends who became family.

Virginia Evanchak, age 93, of Liberty Borough, died at home on February 24, 2024.  Born July 1, 1930, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late George "Huck" Kiehl and Mabel (Lukehart) Kiehl and wife of the late Robert Evanchak.  Virginia was a member of the former Good Samaritan Church in Liberty Borough, where she volunteered as a Sunday School Teacher. 
Virginia was known for her passion for card games, spending countless hours playing solitaire and especially 500 with her family.  Her skill and laughter during these games will be dearly missed.  Her talents extended to the kitchen, where she delighted everyone with her delicious homemade baked goods, including legendary pumpkin pies made from pumpkins grown in her garden.  Even her grandson's friends eagerly anticipated a taste of her pumpkin pie.
