Fred A. Roma, age 92 of Versailles, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 in Sycamore Estates Personal Care Home in Duquesne. Born January 14, 1925 in Trafford, he was a son of the late Alex and Angelina (Fornaro) Roma.
A retired steelworker for US Steel's Christy Park Works, Fred was US Navy Veteran of World War II serving as a Fireman 2nd. Class in the Pacific Theater. He was also a member of the Versailles American Legion. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Berta (Kuzens) Roma, who passed away in 1981, and his sister Betty Buhaly. He is survived by his children Terry (Emily) Roma of Port Vue and Kathleen (Patricia Johnson) Harris of Burlington, IA; his four grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his siblings Armondo Roma and Yolanda Woods, both of White Oak; and also nieces and nephews. There is no visitation for Fred as per his wishes. Friends are welcome to a Committal Service with Military Honors on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 1:30 PM in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp, with Fr. Kevin Dominik officiating. Arrangements by the Daniel F.
