Alverda Colflesh,age 94, formally of Levelgreen, passed away at her daughter Sandra's house in Kingston, Ma, Friday, December 22, 2017.

 She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Ronald, as well as her parents, Henry and Grace Rugg, sister Mary Colflesh, brother Kenneth Rugg, and an infant son. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Barry) of Kingston, Ma, and her son Rick(Ellen Chris) of Granville, WV;4 four granddaughters-Sherree (Keith) Smith Williams, Sara (Joel) Ferguson, all of Plymouth, Ma, Kristin (Ty) Carter of Rivesville, WV, and Karey Colflesh of Granville, WV. She was the beloved Great Grammy to Douglas Williams, Alexis and Avery Ferguson, all of Plymouth, Ma and Cadence and Colton Carter of Rivesville, WV, as well as many nieces and nephews. Alverda was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ursina, Pa, a member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene, a member of the Senior Citizens in Levelgreen until she moved to Massachusetts in 2013, and an auxiliary member of the 736 Tank Battalion. Alverda was an avid gardener, cook, and baker. For many years, Alverda and her husband Ronald enjoyed going to the 736 Tank Battalion Reunions. They traveled widely around the country and enjoyed reuniting with old friends. Alverda will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Friends will be received on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. Additional viewing will take place on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Norwin Church of the Nazarene. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Nate Patnode officiating.
