Janice Dobrowolski, age 77, of White Oak, died April 1, 2023. She was born in Duquesne on November 18, 1945, and is the daughter of the late Victor and Evelyn Snyder Vash. She is the wife of the late James Mamas who died in 1976 and Norbert Dobrowolski who died in 1989.
She graduated from Duquesne High School in 1963 and the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy in 1965. She retired as a manager from Fashion Bug Woman’s clothing store. She was passionate about spending time in her garden and absolutely loved her dog, Joey. Janice is survived by her children; Nikos “Nick” (Nita) Mamas of Latrobe; Victor (Shari) Mamas of North Huntingdon; and Stacey Mamas of White Oak; grandchildren; John, Anne, Sara, Vivian, and Andrew, and brother; Daniel Vash of Kennewick, Washington. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Janice was preceded in death by her grandson, James Patrick Mamas; and brother, Thomas Vash. Family and friends will gather on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177). Services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
