Virginia Lois Maldonado, age 86, of McKeesport, PA, died on Saturday, July 1, 2023. She was born in Shelocta, PA on June 6, 1937 and is the daughter of the late Franklin, Sr. and Edith Rishell Heath and the wife of the late Robert Maldonado, who died on August 26, 1996. She was employed as the first female machinist at Westinghouse and was also a trainer for them. She would periodically travel to their locations in Germany as well. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, attending plays and musicals, and going out with her friends. She was also attended of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church (former St. Mary Czestochowa Church), where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Jean (Michael) Smigielski of McKeesport, PA; Joan (Walter) Grove of McKeesport, PA; granddaughter, Angelica Grove; step-grandchildren, Wendy (Michael) Wick; Erick (Heather) Grove; great grandchildren, beloved Alex Naylor; Evan Wick; Jacob Wick; Aiden Wick; Brenden Grove; Logan Grove; McKayla Grove; Alessandra Grove; Abigail Grove; siblings, Frances (the late Angelo) of Port Vue, PA; Nancy (the late Wayne) Daughtery of San Antionio, TX; Franklin Heath, Jr. of McKeesport, PA; and her fur granddaughter, Holly. In addition to her parents and spouse, Virginia is preceded in death by her siblings, William Heath; and Martha Bell Lopacka. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Prayers will be offered by Susan Heatherington on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
