Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | July 25, 2023
Patricia Ejchost DiMarco of Whitehall passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023, at age 87. She is survived by her son, Rev. Anthony J. DiMarco of New London, CT; her daughter, Susan Hartman of Whitehall; and her sisters Rita Cross, Elaine (James) Sydeski, and Nancy (James) Feltz. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keri, Jordan and Marshall Hartman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Fiore DiMarco; her parents, Stanley and Nellie Ejchost; her sister Evelyn Podkul; and her brothers-in-law Walter Cross and Walter Podkul. Patricia was born in Glassport, graduated from Glassport High School, and retired from the federal government. A true trailblazer, she completed a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh while working full-time and between raising her children and grandchildren. Yet most importantly, she was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend and one of five matriarchs of her large, tight-knit Polish-American family. She gave widely and generously of her love, her cooking, her wit, her wisdom, and her nurturing spirit. Her life was a blessing to us all, and her passing will leave a large hole in our hearts. We are especially grateful to Doctors Salman Fazal and Amjad Jalil, and to Amber Bussard and the rest of the AHN staff for their patient attention to her health and welfare and for ensuring her comfort in her final days. Friends recieved at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Thursday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 27 at 10 a.m. at Saints Joachim and Anne, Queen of the Rosary church by her son, Rev. Anthony DiMarco, with burial to follow at New St. Joseph's Cemetery, North Versailles. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
