Lawrence “Larry” P. Connors, age 88, of Irwin, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023. He was born October 6, 1934 in Helena, Montana, the son of the late Lawrence A. and Doris M. Connors. Upon graduating from Gonzaga University with a degree in chemical engineering, Larry was hired by Westinghouse in Pittsburgh. He continued his education at Carnegie Tech where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. He worked as an engineer his whole career. Larry loved traveling, cooking, and reading about history. His lifelong love of learning continued at the University of Pittsburgh in retirement.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law John Duffy. He is survived by his wife of over 64 years Helen Connors; daughters Amy (Richard) Crumb of Spencerport, New York, Jill (Jeff) Contraguerro of Pittsburgh and Lynn (John) Papadia of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Kaylynn (Bradley) Adkins, Patrick Crumb, Carly Contraguerro, Sydney Contraguerro (fiancé Scott Fetsko), Daniel (Angela) Contraguerro, Jack Papadia and Eric Papadia; and great grandchildren Declan and Maeve Adkins. Friends and family will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. Private interment will be at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon Township.
