Robert W. Keller, 78, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born June 9, 1945 in Braddock, a son of the late David and Kathryn Eileen (Topper) Keller. Bob was a heavy equipment mechanic for US Steel for 20 years and later retired from Beckwith/Cleveland Bros. with 21 years of service. He was a graduate of West Mifflin High School and received his associate degree from Vale Tech. He was a journeyman for heavy equipment, lifetime member of the VFW Post 781 North Huntingdon, and a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John and David Keller. He is survived by his wife, Julia (Popovich) Keller; son, Robert Keller and his wife, Cathy; daughter; five grandchildren; two loving nieces, Lindsay Olsek (Matt) and Ashley Calcagno (Dustin); and his puppy, Rusty. Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. and military honors will be performed at 7 p.m. Interment in Visitation Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday at 11 a.m. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CEMETERY.
