James P. Benson, 58, of North Versailles, passed away Thursday ,October 26, 2023. He was born December 29, 1964 in McKeesport, a son of Katherine (McClellan) Benson of North Versailles and the late John F. “Benny” Benson, and in addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Anna Lengyel and a cousin Jeff Benson. He was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, formerly St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, and he worked as an installer for Franklin Interiors, Pittsburgh. He had a passion for motorcycle riding, was a NASCAR fan, and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting.

James was loved by many friends, had a good sense of humor that told many jokes, and had an infectious laugh. He is survived by his mother Katherine Benson; loving companion Stephanie Jackman; sons Dylan (Megan) Benson of Port Vue and Riley Benson of Pittsburgh; siblings Joe (Diane) Benson of North Versailles, John R. Benson of Virginia, Dawn Fox of North Versailles, and Kelly Benson (fiancé Doug) of North Versailles; uncle Jim Benson (fiancé Debbie); nieces and nephews Tyler, Brittany, Justin, Brian, Bree, Addison, and Chase; also great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway Avenue, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East Mckeesoport. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023 in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, friends and family will meet at the grave site.
