John S. Osika, age 94 of Port Vue, died on Thursday, November 3, 2016.

He was born in McKeesport on March 2, 1922, the son of the late Stephen  and Anna (Sotak) Osika; husband of the late Dorothy J. (Manzlak) Osika. John served in the US Army during WWII under Gen. George Patton as squad leader in the anti-aircraft artillery battalion. He was also active in St. Mark Parish with the festival and fish fry. He is survived by daughters, Janet (Rick) Sanderson of Elizabeth Twp., Carolyn (Joe) Sommer of Baldwin; sisters, Josephine Krajack of Liberty Boro, Delores Marte of N. Versailles; brother, Edward Osika of Margate, FL; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 2 step granddaughters and 5 step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers, Andrew and George Osika and sisters, Margaret Magdic and Evelyn Judd. Friends will be received on Monday, November 7th from 2-8 pm at Hunter-Edmundson-Striffler Funeral Home, 600 Market Street, McKeesport, PA 15132, 412-678-6191. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 10 am, St. Mark Parish, Port Vue with Fr. Daniel Straughn officiating. Burial will follow. Condolences may be made at www.strifflerfuneralhomes.com.
