Sarah "Cookie" Begonia, age 82 of North Huntingdon passed away on December 14, 2023 at Redstone Highlands Greensburg. She was born on September 6th, 1941 in Cowen, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Leonard Massie and Mildred Wright. In addition to her parents, Cookie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John. Cookie cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was an active member of Norwin Christian Church where she helped to organize Christian workshops, Sunday school classes, Bible studies, and vacation Bible school. She enjoyed her role as a homemaker and was also employed as a book keeper at JBM Towing for over 50 years. She is survived by sons Bill (Lorre) and Michael (Beth), daughter Lisa (Tony), grandchildren Nathan (Jamie), Benjamin (Kaitlyn), Nicholas (Samantha), Madalyn (Jimmy), Kristina (Keith), and Nick (Lauren), and great grandchildren Wyatt, Owen, Mason, and Kayce. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Saturday from 4 to 6 P.M. A service will take place in the funeral home at 6 P.M.
