Michael Anthony Nowak, age 65, of Irwin, formerly of Elizabeth, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at home. He retired as a senior management and technical advisor for the Department of Energy in South Park. He was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Twp. where he was very active. He was an instructor at Performance Martial Arts & Fitness and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Born October 17, 1958 in New York City, he was a son of the late Edward and Sophie (Tomanek) Nowak. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nanette M. Nowak; daughter, Christina Nowak of Swissvale; son, Michael J. (Tracie) Nowak of Munhall; sister, Christine (the late Arthur) Deyns of Hawley; brother, Stanley (the late Karen) Nowak of Holbrook, NY; sister-in-law, Maggie Nowak of Floral Park, NY; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Nowak. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 12 PM until the hour of mass at 1 PM at St. Michael Church, 101 McLay Drive, Elizabeth, PA 15037. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Disease Research Center, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, 200 Lothrop Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Arrangements by the Paul E.
