John “Jack” Edward Donnelly, age 78, of McKeesport, PA, died on March 14, 2024, at his residence. He was born in McKeesport on August 29, 1945, and is the son of the late Harry J. and Dorothy Marie Finger Donnelly.
John served four years in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Oakland VA Hospital after many years of service. John was a member of the Eizabeth Township Seniors and enjoyed going on their various trips, shopping at flea markets, and thrift stores, but most of all he enjoyed spending time at his trailer in the mountains. He loved all pets, as well as his own cat, Princess. Everyone said John was such a truly good person who would help anybody at anytime.
He is survived by his brother, Richard “Rick” Donnelly of White Oak, PA; sister, Marge D. (Charles) Heidenfelder of McKeesport, PA; niece, Lori Heidenfelder of McKeesport, PA; and nephew, Charles Heidenfelder of McKeesport, PA; and his partner of 43 years, Virginia Neal of McKeesport, PA.
Family and friends may gather at Striffler’s of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Servies, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA, 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177) on Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until a blessing service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in North Versailles.
