Jo An (Bentley) Axton, age 91, of East McKeesport, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2024. She was born March 2, 1933 in Turtle Creek, a daughter of the late Roy and Marie (Trout) Bentley. She was an active member of the Hillcrest United Presbyterian Church in Monroeville where she made chocolates to sell and bracelets for the needy. She worked as a paralegal in the Patents and Trademark Division of Pittsburgh Plate and Glass in Pittsburgh for over 30 years before retiring. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Robert James Axton; brother Roy Bently Jr.; and sister Arlene Marie Betthauser. She is survived by her Nephew Ray M. Christian of Jupiter, Florida; and great nieces and nephews in Georgia and Florida. There will be a memorial service at a later date. Interment will be at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon Township. Arrangements handled by the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083.
