Mary Ann Peterson, age 91, of Elizabeth Twp., PA, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 8, 1932, grew up in Forest Hills, PA, and was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Szmyd Matusz. She was also the wife of the late Edward A. Peterson, Sr., who died on October 15, 2015. Mary Ann was employed as a secretary for the University of Pittsburgh for many years.

She is survived by her sons, Edward A. (Heidi) Peterson, Jr. of Madison, AL; Glenn W. (Doug Kraushaar) of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Christian Peterson; Elizabeth Ann Peterson; brother, John (Camillia) Matusz of Plum, PA; sister-in-law, Dorothy (the late Al) Peterson of Greensburg, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her siblings, Jean Matusz; Walter (the late Geraldine) Matusz; and her many adored cats.

Family and friends will gather on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from Noon until the time of services at 4:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). A burial will take place next to her husband at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
