Mary Jane (Hodge) McCorkle, 97, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Jefferson Hills, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Jefferson Hospital. Born October 23, 1926, in Smock, she was a daughter of the late David and Anna Mae (Kennedy) Hodge and loving wife of the late Robert A. McCorkle Sr. Mary Jane is survived by her children, Robert A. (Janice) McCorkle, Jr., of Liberty Borough, PA, David McCorkle of Somerset, PA, Douglas (Marlene) McCorkle of Warren, PA, Scott McCorkle of Dravosburg, PA, and Lani (Eric) Knabenschuh of Elizabeth Township, PA with whom she resided. Mary Jane was the loving grandmother of Robert (Stephanie) McCorkle, III of Liberty Borough, David McCorkle of Somerset, Amy (Amber) McCorkle-Williams of Jefferson Hills, Amanda (Rick) McCorkle of Conway, SC, Joshua (Jocelyn) McCorkle of Upper St. Clair, Vicki Sue McCorkle of Salt Lake City, UT, Elizabeth (Timothy) Liedl of Houston, PA, Emily Knabenschuh of Elizabeth Twp, and Jon (Cheryl) Knabenschuh of Vineyard, UT. Mary Jane was the loving great-grandmother of eighteen. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Bucy of Portage, IN and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight of her siblings, Anna Mae Core, Gwendolyn Hodge, Clyde Hodge, David Hodge, Jr., Margaret Schwarz, Ruth Smitley, Robert Hodge and John Hodge; daughter-in-law, Vilma McCorkle; and her granddaughter, Kelly Singleton. She was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Clairton and attended The Church of God in Monongahela. Mary Jane is a past member of the Women of the Moose in Elizabeth and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary serving many years at Post 803, Clairton, prior to transferring membership to Kastan-Uveges Post 7632 in Elizabeth, supporting our Veterans for more than 75 years. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Burdett officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made, in Mary Jane’s name, to The Church of God, 531 West Main Street, Monongahela, PA 15063.
