Martha “Jean” Bridges of Arvada, CO, formerly of Dravosburg, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Nov. 12, 2016 at the age of 91, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Born in Duquesne, she was the only daughter of the late Ray and Hazel Swaney Richards. During WWII she was a “Rosie the riveter”, working at Duquesne Steel Works making artillery shell casings for the war effort. She enjoyed her participation and friends in the Dravosburg Community Club and the Crafters group at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in McKeesport for many years until her move to Colorado. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years Henry A. Bridges Jr., and her brothers Jack, Emery, Charles, Lou, Donald and Kenneth Richards. She is survived by brother William Richards of West Mifflin, son Kevin and his wife Siggi of Ashburn, VA, daughter Donna and her husband David of Arvada, CO, daughter Karen and her husband Barry of Madison, AL, their 2 children Brian and Kelly, and 4 great-grandchildren, Kai, Malia, Lily and Charlotte.
Friends will gather on Saturday, December 3rd, beginning at 9:00 am at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 220 8th St., McKeesport, PA 15132, followed by services at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg.
