Michael J. Wieger, 78, of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday May 1, 2024. He was born December 1, 1945 in San Francisco, Calif., a son of the late Robert E. and Olive Jean (Bruley) Wieger and was also preceded in death by his son Special Agent Staff Sgt. David A. Wieger, killed in action in Iraq in 2007. Mike was a retired millwright for Latrobe Steel and was a longtime active member of Norwin Christian Church, North Huntingdon. Mike was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and enjoyed woodworking and fixing anything mechanical. He is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years, Lori R. (Harper) Wieger; his son Michael J. Wieger Jr. and his wife Brenda of Port Vue; his siblings Robert Wieger of Mexico, Geraldine “Geri” Hartsfield of Florida and William Wieger of California; also brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Norwin Christian Church, 9610 Barnes Lake Rd., North Huntingdon. Military Honors will follow. Those attending the funeral service please go directly to the church. Private interment will be in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
