James W. Shirley Funeral Home

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | May 24, 2024

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father Philip Cristina who left us on May 24, 2024 at the age of 98. His absence leaves a void in our hearts. He proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. After the war he married the love of his life Rose. They were married for 63 years before her death 15 years ago. He visited her 5 days a week at the cemetery always making sure she had a beautiful vase of flowers. Philip was a member of Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, a trustee with the Teamsters Local 30, AARP and American Legion. He began his career as a truck driver working for Helm’s Motor Freight and Rider Trucking Company. Preceded in death by his wife Rose, daughter Pauline Phillips and infant granddaughter Elizabeth Reynolds. Survived by his three daughters Marie (William) Breeger Sr., Elvira Reynolds and Roseann (Marco) Faulisi Jr., 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. In accordance with our father’s wishes there will be no public visitation. Private interment will be at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements will be handled by James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. Our family would like to express appreciation to all the staff at Transitions Healthcare North Huntingdon. The comfort and personal care provided was exceptional. To all his dear friends and the entire staff at Bob Evans restaurant in North Huntingdon, he loved you all like family. Heartland Hospice, you were right by his side until the end. Dad, we will always carry your memory deep in our hearts knowing you’re now in heaven with our dear mother. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
