Barbara J. Petro, 81 of North Huntingdon passed peacefully away at home on Thursday July 4, 2024. She was the daughter of the late James and Harriet Wright Roycroft. Barbara was a member of Circleville U.M. Church where she taught Sunday school and was the leader along with her husband, George of the youth group for many years. Barbara was also a girl scout leader for her daughters troops. She also volunteered for the Westmoreland County Food Bank. She is survived by her husband, George of 62 years, her daughters, Deborah Altman (Kirk), Sandra Gillon (Frank), and Susan Vargo (Ray), eight grandchildren, Crystal Smith (Greg), Andrew Hayden (Erica), KJ Altman (Darcy), Kevin Altman, Jonathan Vargo (Angela), Emily Vargo, Nathan Gillon, Jessica Philabauem (Jake), and ten great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday 2-8 PM at James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike. A service will be held Tuesday 10 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
