Bernadette Marie Vazquez, 51, of Glassport passed away peacefully at home in her sleep with her loving husband by her side on February 11, 2025. She was born on July 20, 1973.  She worked at the Glassport Diner for years, where everyone knew her as “Bernie”.  She also worked at Carol’s Cafe and most recently at Cotts Manufacturing.  She loved working at Cott’s and couldn’t wait to “get better and go back to work”.  She was loved by all.  Most recently, she was so excited to became a grandma for the first time.  She found out in January of 2024 that she had stage 4 lung cancer.  From the day she found out, she fought.  She was determined and put up a strong, courageous fight.  She attended River City Assembly of God Church in Glassport.  She loved her husband, her family, her in laws and Lord. Bernadette had a strong faith and loving church community with Rivers City Church AG. She also loved attending the Alabama football games with her husband. When feeling up to it she enjoyed going to Rivers Casino with Joe, especially the Wheelhouse. She will be missed by all.

She is survived by her beloved husband Joe Vazquez (Brownfield); mother Darlene (Rick) Yanity; mother and father-in-law Betty and Richie Brownfield; children Carl (Sami Myers) and Jared (Paige) Lukens; grandson Jaxson Warren Lukens; sisters Dodi Lynn (Harry Hoffman) Kellerman, Rocky (Rex) Gillie and Sara-Dawn Rogers; brothers Jimmy Montgomery, David (Will) Montgomery and Chalmers (Katie) Montgomery; Nieces Autumn Kent, Bailey Johnson, Ayla, Zyra and Tessa Montgomery, Sydney Rogers, Samantha Vuckovich, Madison (Bret Bowling) Mathers, Makenzie Mathers, Lile and Chloe Dixon; nephews Donny, Justin (Angela) & Jeremy (Alexis Palm) Kellerman, Drake Gillie, Shane Buckholtz, Eli Montgomery, Ethan (Macey) and Zachary (Morgan) Vuckovich; great nieces Nova Kellerman, Laikyn and Nina Wallace and Sammy Grace, Reyna and Sophia Vukovich; great nephews Asher and Jaxon Kellerman, Jeremiah Vuckovich and Mason Laufer; sisters-in-law Robin (Sam) Vuckovich, Beth Mathers and LeAnn (Shannon) Dixon; her sweet kitty Rocky; and also many, many aunts, uncles,  cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by  step father Kevin Kennedy and sister-in-law Jessica Barry Montgomery, as well as her grandparents Dolly and Bill Smith and Chalmers and Ruth Montgomery.

Friends and family will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30, at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Jason Piligno.
