David W. “George” Tachoir, Sr., 87 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at his home. He was born in Jefferson Hills on July 30, 1937, to the late Thomas L. and Edna M. Grimes Tachoir. David was the devoted husband of 65 years to Alice M. Kennedy Tachoir, and a loving father to Dave (Donna) Tachoir, Jr., of Munhall, Kathleen (David) Campitella of Jefferson Hills, and Deborah (Joe) Edwards of Brentwood, TN. Loving grandfather to Christopher (Alex) Campitella, Brandon (Elizabeth) Campitella, Stephanie (Andrew) McGuire, and Brittany (Kristianne) Campitella and adoring great-grandfather to great-grandchildren Vance, Jasmine, Maliyah, Brody, Emalyn, Antonio, Analyn. He was also survived by nieces, and nephews, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. David was hardworking and dedicated. He spent 60 years working as a machinist, including working at Copper Weld for 26 years, and at Petersen Machine and Repair Shop for 15 years, where he was known for his intelligence and kindness in helping others. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions. David’s hobbies and interests helped to define who he was. He was a former member of the Lebanon Presbyterian church where he was a deacon and elder. He served in the U.S. Army and received a certificate of nomination. He enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, old cars and motorcycles, Lionel trains, and often spent his weekend at the Mountain Pines Campground. His love for Lionel Trains was something that he shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving a mark on us that will never fade. Though Dave may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of family love honored. He was a man of kindness, generosity, and humor, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. David was preceded in death by his siblings Billy, Kathleen, Ruth, Betty, Tommy, and great-granddaughter Adalyn. We find comfort in knowing that David’s legacy lives on through the lessons that he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories that we will cherish forever. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 2:00 P.M – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. A service will take place at the funeral home at 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Wounded Warriors Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/ .
