Nicholas Zelno, age 78 of North Huntingdon, passed away on June 15, 2025 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on September 25, 1946 in Eynon Pennsylvania, a son of the late Milton Zelno and Helen Kalinowski Zelno. Nick was a graduate of Archbald High School in the class of 1964, and also a graduate of Penn State University. He attended the Navy School of Electronics and was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War. Nick then went on to pursue a career in electronics, with employment by Union Switch and Signal, Echoram Technologies, RD Tech, and Westinghouse. Nick was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed nothing more than spending the day on his pontoon boat on Lake Arthur. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Shaner Sportsman's Club, having served as Treasurer for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years Sandy Zelno, one brother Milton Zelno (wife Roseann), and brother-in-law John Galeano. Nick is survived by one daughter Sherry Zelno, three sisters Frances Heaney (Gene Rodriguez), Marilyn Charsky (husband Rich), and Denise Galeano, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 11 AM.
