Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | October 08, 2025

Geraldine “Gerry” Saccameno, 89, passed peacefully Monday, October 6, 2025, at the St. Anne Home in Greensburg, surrounded by family.
Gerry, affectionately known as “Jammy” by her family, was born December 14, 1935, in Braddock, to the late Albert and Julia Yurko. In 1949, she met the love of her life, Joe, at the movie theater on Braddock Avenue. The two went on to marry, raise three children, and build a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories together. Over the years, they were blessed with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren whom they loved deeply.
Gerry was a true caregiver. She selflessly cared for her father and brother following her mother’s early passing. She lovingly raised three children of her own and she played a pivotal role in helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gerry’s life was defined by her devotion to family, her devout faith, and her humorous wit. She loved her husband and family unconditionally and was equally loved in return by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Geraldine is survived by her loving children, Cheryl, Joe (Noel), and Julie (Tim); grandchildren Amanda, Jeff, Olivia, Gillian (Noah), and Joe; and great-grandchildren JJ and Nico.
Family and friends are invited to visit Alfieri Funeral Home, 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Blessing Service to follow on Friday, October 10, at 10 a.m., to say goodbye to the dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dementia Society of America.
