"Jack" John J. Palombo, 87, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.
He was born April 15, 1929 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Nicholas and Mary Vendemmia Palombo. Prior to his retirement, Jack was employed by Vevius Crucible and was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Board of the Penns Woods Civic Association and ran Bingo for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Haluck in 2015; brother, Anthony Palombo; and sister, Mary Louise Silvio. He is survived by his two sons, John (Sally), and Anthony (Darlene) Palombo; daughter, Sharon Oliver; six grandchildren, Becky Kitta, Jaime Derbish, Stephanie Ference, Mark Palombo, Christopher and Caylyn Oliver; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Shea and Tanner Kitta, and Colton and Connor Ference. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Wednesday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon, with Fr.
