Rose (Ferraro) Curinga, age 96 of Jefferson Hills and formerly of Clairton, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 in Jefferson Hospital. Born November 23, 1920 in Santa Donato, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Domenica (Capolupo) Ferraro.
A member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton and the Sons of Columbus Council #6, Rose worked as a secretary at US Steel's Clairton Works and also taught sewing and tailoring at CCAC South in West Mifflin. A kind, fair, and happy woman, Rose will be remembered by her family, friends, and community forever. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rocco L. Curinga, who passed away February 18, 2001, and her brothers: Andrew, Joseph, and Frank Ferraro. Rose is survived by her daughters Angela (Rob) Morini and Roxane Curinga, both of Jefferson Hills; her sons Nick (Dianne) Curinga of Forward Twp., Domenic (Linda) Curinga of Jefferson Hills, and Roch (Kim) Curinga of Nottingham Twp.; her six grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; her sister Carmella Ferraro of Clairton; and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Church.
