Dene George Patterson, 74, North Huntingdon, PA currently resided in Melbourne, FL passed from this life on March 27, 2017.

  Formerly a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Elizabeth, PA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William George and Vida Mildred Patterson & sister, Joanne McCorkle (husband Robert).  Survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Patterson & three children, Dalene Patterson (fiancé Gordon), Darlene Salmon (husband Jim), Darrin Patterson (wife Lori) and their sons, Ethan Dene & Noah Eugene Patterson.  Siblings: identical twin brother, Gene William Patterson (wife Patricia), sister, Dana Rae Schwaed (husband Donald), brother, Duayne Lee Patterson (wife Sandy), brother, Gary Dale Patterson (wife Carole).  Dene was survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  He was a member of Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, FL.  Dene served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY (1960 to 1963).  He was an Insurance Representative for John Hancock Insurance, East McKeesport, PA.  Additionally, he was a Furniture Store Manager at R&J Furniture, McKeesport, PA, Martins Furniture, Brentwood, PA, LA-Z-BOY Furniture Galleries and Quality Furniture, Monroeville, PA.  He was PTG President for former St. Agnes School, North Huntingdon, PA.  Dene enjoyed being a member of "That Man Is You " & "Man of the Immaculata" and was a member of Toastmasters International.  He was a Graduated Assistant for Dale Carnegie Sales & Associates, Inc.  Dene fought his journey with cancer with the utmost faith, courage, strength, and a positive attitude for 17 years.  He enjoyed writing Bible verses on envelopes while memorizing them and sharing them with friends & family.  Playing board/card games with his grandsons was the highlight of his day.  His favorite meal was breakfast which he shared with his twin brother for years at Bill's Restaurant, Rostraver, PA.  Dene was an extremely faithful servant to the Lord, a shining example to his children and grandchildren, and a gentle man who always smiled and enjoyed teaching his grandsons Bible verses.   Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Friday from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10a.m. at St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon followed by interment in West Newton Cemetery. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
