Charles F. Gillen, age 94, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Southwestern Nursing Center. He retired from the Plant Protection Department of U.S. Steel Clairton Works. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a former member of West Elizabeth United Methodist Church. In the latter days he missed visiting with all of his friends.

Born September 21, 1922 in Clarion, he was a son of the late William and Sophie (Shaw) Gillen and husband of the late Margaret (Augustine) Gillen. He is survived by daughter, Linda Nelson of LaPlata, MD; son, Charles W. (Deborah) Gillen of Wilmington, OH; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; also, nieces and nephews.
