Lorraine M. Auld Matta, 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Forbes Regional Hospital.
She was born November 12, 1933 in East Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late James and Margaret Auld. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon and a member of Christian Mothers. Prior to raising her family, Lorraine worked as a lab assistant at Westinghouse Research. She enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino and doing her daily crossword puzzles. Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Matta; son, Ronald Matta; and grandson, David Hill. She is survived by her sons, Richard Matta and his wife, Karen of Potomac, MD, Lawrence Matta and his wife, Stefanie of Cypress, TX; daughter, Lori Husok and her husband, Nicholas of North Huntingdon; daughter-in-law Judy Matta of North Huntingdon; 11 grandchildren, Stephen Matta, Kevin Matta, Lauren (Matta) Zhang, Katy (Hill) Hwang, Brian Hill, Jonathan Krohe, Allison Matta, Christopher Cervi, Tori Matta, Michael Matta, Emily Matta; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law, and dear friends. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon.
