Mabel C. Ganassi, age 86 of Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Select Specialty Hospital at UPMC McKeesport. Born October 29, 1930 in Sutersville, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Mabel (Smith) Clark, sister of the late Donald L. and Katherine G. Clark and John J. and Marjorie C. Clark, and wife of the late Eugene P. Ganassi, who passed away May 5, 1998.

A former payroll clerk for Warden Mines, Mabel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth, where she formerly served as a deacon and in the choir, and was also a fifty year member of Eastern Star in West Newton. She is survived by her daughter Donna (the late Edward) Sullenberger of Fallowfield Twp., her sons Donald Ganassi of Alexandria, VA and Douglas Ganassi of Elizabeth, her grandson Jared, and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 N. 2nd. Ave., Elizabeth, PA 15037 (412-384-4344) on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 10 AM with Pastor Glenn McClelland officiating. Procession and burial will follow to West Newton Cemetery.
