Mary A. Durst, age 92, of Greensburg, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Walnut Ridge, Greensburg.
She was born September 18, 1924 in Connellsville, PA, a daughter of the late Oliver and Florence Dawson Minerd. Prior to her retirement, Mary was employed by the FBI, Department of the Navy in Washington, DC and was a member of Circleville United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Durst; two sisters, Eleanor Brooks and Virginia Hart. She is survived by her two sons, Jim C. and his fiancee, Donna, and John R., and his wife, Daria; daughter, Darlene Hagan and her husband, Glenn; grandchildren, Nathan (Tina), Alyshia (Dan), and Garrett. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Redstone Hospice, Walnut Ridge Nursing Home and Hempfield Manor for their compassionate care.
