Martha Jane “Janie” Mendez, 69, of McKeesport, formerly a lifelong resident of Glassport, passed away at UPMC McKeesport on Sunday, July 2, 2017.  She was born February 9, 1948 to the late Skylar and Martha Finnegan Coddington of McKeesport.  Martha was a loving wife to her late husband of forty years, Romauldo Mendez.  She is survived by daughters, Mary (Donnie) Smith of Glassport, Tracy Moyer of Meadville, Jean Moyer of Glassport, Georgina (Dale) Humphries of Glassport; sons, Raymond Mendez of McKeesport, Randy Mendez of Glassport; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Skylar Coddington of Bedford; sisters, Anna Yeager of Glassport, Elsie Wiggins of Glassport, Linda Coddington of Glassport, Gloria Brown of Foster, Mary Arndt of McKees Rocks, and Sandra Yavoich of McKeesport.  Along with her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by brother, William Coddington; sisters, Matilda Yeager, Nancy Andrioli;  daughter, Petra Mendez; and parents who raised her David and Mary Jane Cottle. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, bingo, bible studies, computer games and was a lover of dogs.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday July 6, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at E. C. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 235 Monongahela Avenue, Glassport,  PA   15045.  A service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10:00 am presided by Bishop L. C. Carter, followed by interment at Restland Memorial Park in Monroeville.
