Margaret (Peggy) Bitton, age 90, of West Newton, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.

She was born May 8, 1927 in Boardman, OH, a daughter of the late Vernon and Tina Belle Craig Gates.  Peggy was president of Friends of Forbes Hospice;  she previously served as president of Make Today Count, and was honored as Citizen of the Year 2001.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice G. Bitton.  She is survived by her daughter, Lisa J. Duncan and her husband, Conrad; and granddaughter, Renee Ann Tabak and her husband, Michael.  Memorial contributions may be made to Rodef Sholom Sisterhood, 1119 Elm Street, OH  44505,  or a charity of your choice.  Condolences may be sent to her daughter, Lisa Duncan, 164 Taylor Rd., West Newton, PA  15089.  At her request, there will be no visitations or service.  Arrangements made by the James W.
