Nomikos "Mickey" D. Patellis, 85, formerly of Blaine Hill, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Jefferson Hospital. Retired, after 46 years of service, as a chemical lab technician for U.S. Steel, Clairton Works, he was a member of St. Anthony Greek Orthodox Church in Clairton, a 50 year member of Stephen Bayard Lodge #526 in Elizabeth and Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was born January 1, 1931 in McKeesport and was a son of the late Demosthenes and Irene (Alevrofas) Patellis and husband of the late Maxie (Runelle) Patellis, who passed away February 3, 2006. Nomikos is survived by a son, Demosthenes N. (Judy) Patellis of West Mifflin; daughters, Eva (Matthew) Maple of North Huntingdon, Irene (Dominic) Presutti of Marlton, NJ and Androniki McGrath of Elizabeth Township; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Daniel and Jonathan Patellis, Jayme, Valerie and Ryan Warmus, Dominic and Andrea Presutti and Brian and Natalie McGrath; 6 great grandchildren, Austin, Addyson Runelle, Lilly, Christian, Alivia and Stella Mae; brother, Nicholas Patellis of Laguna Nigel, CA; sister, Androniki Alahouzos of Bethesda, MD; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Alexi McGrath. A private memorial service will take place in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home Chapel, Elizabeth. Private burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
