George R. Warnett, age 83 of White Oak, died Thursday, August 24, 2017. He was born in New York City on August 22, 1934, the son of the late George V. and Marie Piscotty Warnett. He served in the U.S. Army and graduated from New York University. He worked as a field engineer for Lockheed-Martin until his retirement and volunteered six years for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center in Westchester, PA. George was an amazing, incredible dancer and was one of the original members of American Bandstand, and a member of the former Bandstand Alumni Club.
He is survived by his fiancé, long time love, and dance partner Patricia Capar of White Oak, daughter, Dawn (Jeffrey) McFarlin of McKeesport, brother Donald (Iliana) Warnett of New York City, grandsons; Jason Warnett of Largo, Florida, Christopher Formica of Downingtown, PA, Taylor McFarlin of McKeesport, and granddaughter Noel McFarlin of McKeesport. He was preceded in death by his daughter Deborah A. Bruce, brother, Richard Warnett, and sister Alice McDonnell.
A service was held Saturday at Striffler’s of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131. Burial followed. Condolences may be made at www.strifflerfuneralhomes.com.
