Walter J. Chapple, 90, of North Huntingdon, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Masonic Village at Sewickley, surrounded by his family.
He was born January 13, 1927 in West Mifflin, PA, a son of the late Walter J. and Mae Ziegler Chapple. Walter was employed with Kennywood Park for over 30 years and later worked for Filmet until his retirement. He was past Exalted Ruler of Homestead Elks, member of Irwin #601 Masonic Lodge, active member in Syria Temple and Circleville United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Homer Chapple and second wife, Alma Hess Chapple. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Lynn Treese and her husband, Val Treese; son, Dennis Chapple and his wife, Deborah; grandchildren, Nicole (Alex) Coen, Stephen (Amanda) Chapple; great-grandchildren, Eden, CeCe, Evy, Mason and Levi; stepchildren, Penny Crowe, Jane Walker, Jean Brown, Blanche Painter and Tom Homer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
