Andrew J. Knapp, 29, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Shadyside Hospital with his family at his side.  He was born June 7, 1988, the beloved son of James and Rosemary Gregory Knapp.

Andy was a 2006 Norwin graduate and attended Penn State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He was employed by the Elliott Group for five years but left the company to attend Carnegie Mellon University to earn his Master of Integrated Innovation for Products and Services Degree.  Throughout his life, Andy was a roller coaster enthusiast who enjoyed not only riding but also designing coasters.  His hobbies included drawing, working out at the gym, and singing karaoke.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Lauren Wisneski and her husband, John; aunts, Rita Knapp, Marianne Freda, Beverly Gregory, and Joanne Gregory; uncle, Dale Krisantz; cousins, Nicholas, Kerrie, Jonathan, Timothy, and Lisa.  Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Tuesday from 3-8 P.M.  A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday at 10 A.M. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon.  Interment will be in Irwin Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Make-A-Wish.   www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
