Robert A. Amantea, 73, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at his home. He was born November 6, 1943 in Wilkinsburg, PA, a son of the late Thomas and Antoinette "Dolly" Biase Amantea.
Prior to his retirement, Robert was a truck driver for Ryder Systems and a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed antique cars, hot rods and especially spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Marunich Amantea. He is survived by his son, David Amantea and his wife, Adrienne; brother, Thomas (Tim) Amantea and his wife, Julie; sister, Patricia Cepec and her husband, James; two grandchildren, Natalie and Hannah. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
