Robert E. "Red" Badger, 81, of Irwin, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. He was born August 1, 1936 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Theodore and Margaret Ludgate Badger. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Irwin.

Prior to his retirement, Robert was employed by the U.S. Post Office. He enjoyed art, painting , drawing and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served from 1955-58. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife and life time companion, Lorelei K. Coffman Badger. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Terri), Theodore and Timothy; daughter, Julie Dempsey; grandchildren, Jessica, Erin, Brandon, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Keegan, two sisters, Betty Ionadi and Margaret Jackson. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A blessing service will take place Saturday 9 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
