John Thomas Petruna, Jr., age 90 of White Oak, died Monday, October 16, 2017. He was born June 18, 1927 in McKeesport, the son of the late John T., Sr.  and Joanna Kaminski Petruna. 

 John served in the U.S. Army during WWII, graduated from Edinboro University, and then Indiana University with a Master’s Degree. He was a fraternity member of Phi Sigma Pi, and a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion Post 701. John loved golf and being married to his wife of 28 years. He is survived by his wife Margaret, sons; Lance (Lisa) Lewand of Boston, MA, Lee (Stephanie) Lewand of Highland Park, sister Regina Mae Platt of Cheswick, also 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-son Leonard Lewand.

Family and friends will be received Friday, October 20th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412-678-6177). Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, October 21st at 10 am in Corpus Christi Church with Fr. Steven Palsa officiating. Burial will follow.
