William F. Richards, age 79 of McKeesport, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville. Born November 10, 1937 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Frederick T. and Mary E. (Hrabosky) Richards.

A member of Christ United Methodist Church in North Huntington and Veteran of the US Army, William retired as an avionics supervisor for the Air National Guard helicopter unit in Washington, PA. Prior to that, he worked on the radar systems of the Nike Missile Defense Program in our area. He was also a member of the F & AM Monroeville Lodge, the former president of the McKeesport Optimists Club, a member of the McKeesport Zoning Board, and the president of the McKeesport Housing Authority. William is survived by his wife Sally (Nagy) Richards; his children Theresa (Scott) Stockdill of Elizabeth Twp., Catherine (Daniel) Trunzo of Canal Winchester, OH, and William L. Richards of Bethel Park; his seven grandchildren: Jeremy Stockdill, Julie (Joseph) Squires, Caleb and Cristie Stockdill, and Carina, Danielle, and Carissa Trunzo; and his great-granddaughter Chloe Squires. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, 4504 Walnut St., Versailles Borough, McKeesport, PA 15132 (412-678-3454) on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Sang Kong Choi officiating.
