Murdeen C. Newton, 60, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Rankin, PA, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital, McKeesport.

 She was born November 10, 1956 in Braddock, PA, a daughter of the late John and Mildred Beilhart Newton.  Murdeen was a caregiver for Special Needs Care Agency and a member of Faith Bible Baptist Church, Wilkins Township.  She enjoyed watching DCI Drum Corps and had a deep love for all animals.  She is survived by her brother, Ian K. (Susan) Newton; sisters, Catherine Costa and Carolyn Verosky; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home on Friday from 3-8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Interment to follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westmoreland County Humane Society.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
