Dorothy (Riling) Kemper, Age 90, of West Mifflin, on November 16, 2017, at her residence in the presence of her family, Dorothy went home to be with her Lord. Dorothy touched so many lives and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Duquesne, PA for many years. She was a member of the Confraternity of the Christian Mothers and Guild at St. Joseph's and enjoyed singing in the choir. She volunteered at the St. Joseph annual flea market for many years and at the Church bake sales, fish fries, and doughnut sales.

She later joined Holy Trinity Church in West Mifflin, where she also sang in the choir. She loved to sing and over the years participated in several local Cantatas. She was in the Ephesians IV prayer group, meeting on Mondays at St. Agnes Church. She served the coffee and cookies for the group for 20 years. Anyone could call her and ask her to pray for someone and she was always quick to put them on her prayer list. She worked the election polls for over 30 years. She went to school to be an Air Traffic Controller but the war ended and she never got to use her training. Dorothy worked in the accounting department of U.S. Steel, Homestead, until she married James Kemper in 1952.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Jim; her mother, Elizabeth Riling, whom she cared for in her home for 11 years and her dad, Fred Riling. She was a devoted and caring mother to three sons, Rick (Judy), of Harrison City, David (Mary Jane), of Versailles, PA, and Dan, her loving caretaker at home, in West Mifflin; grandmother of Amy (Josh) Steiner and Holly (Jason) Johnson; great-grandmother of Emma, Caleb, Heidi, Silas, and Charlotte; she has one granddog, Rufus; and two great-granddogs.

Visitation Monday, November 20, 2017, from 10-11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 817 W. Grant Ave., Duquesne. Followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Thomas Lewandowski, celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you do an act of kindness in her memory.
