Catherine A. Shinavski, age 78, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015, in UPMC McKeesport. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish in McKeesport, and its Christian Mothers and Senior Citizens groups. She was the former president of the Pittsburgh district of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and a former independent real estate agent. Born September 4, 1937 in Glassport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Pavol.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael J. Shinavski; sons, David (Lorraine) Shinavski of South Park, Kenneth J. Shinavski of Farmington and Michael J. Shinavski, Jr. of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren; Katelyn, Eva, Laura and Julie Shinavski; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10 AM in Corpus Christi Parish with Father Michael Maranowski officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
