Mary J. Sabo, age 91 of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born April 2, 1926 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Pepa (Sudarich) Grdich.

A former cafeteria worker at McKeesport Hospital who also worked as a stenographer at Potter McCune Co. in McKeesport, Mary was a member of CFU Lodge #146 and formerly its Ladies' and Pensioneers' Clubs, the Versailles AARP, and the Christy Park Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years Joseph Sabo; her sisters Ann Lewis and Rose Polka; and her brothers John and Roy Cindric, Joseph Grdich, and Frank Grdich, Jr.. Mary is survived by her daughter Mari-Jo (Albert) Protz of White Oak, her son Joseph (Karen) Sabo of Monroeville, her grandchildren Andrew and Emily Sabo (her fiance Bryan Maldonado), her sister Frances "Tootsie" (Clay) Cole of McKeesport, her sisters-in-law Kay (the late Roy) Cindric and Rose (the late Frank) Grdich, nieces, including Judy Lewis, nephews, and godchild Kelly Garber. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, 4504 Walnut St., Versailles Borough, McKeesport, PA 15132 (412-678-3454) on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Glen Irvin officiating.
