John M. Kelly Sr., age 81, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.
He was born April 14, 1936 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Alfred and Mary Vrban Kelly. Prior to his retirement, John was an electrical designer for Westinghouse Electric and later Dravo/Kvaerner. He was a member of St. Agnes Parish and a veteran of the Army Reserves. He was an avid history buff and loved airplanes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol James Kelly; sisters, Genevieve Wilson and Evelyn Stakor. He is survived by his two sons, John Jr. and William and his wife, Amy; daughter, Debbie Bartolomucci and her husband, James; brother, Alfred Kelly; grandchildren, Sean (Katie), Joshua and Kristina. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. A blessing service will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will be private in St. Joseph Mausoleum, North Versailles, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
