James R. Brown, 82, of North Huntingdon, Pa.,  passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital, McKeesport.

 He was born May 18, 1935 in McKeesport, a son of the late John and Esther (Laughner) Brown.  Prior to his retirement, James was a switch equipment technician for Bell Telephone.  He was a member of the Calvary Chapel, Greensburg, Pa., and was an Eagle Scout.  He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Peck Brown; two sons, Richard Brown, Aaron Brown and his wife, Tami; daughter, Debbie Connelly; sister, Dianne Walters; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA.  A funeral service will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Entombment to follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
