Goodish, Alice Jane. Aged 76, passed in Lake city, FL on January 30, 2018, due to complications related to a house fire. Born September 7, 1941 in Duquesne PA to Alice Eismont/Lemak/Uhren and Steve Lemak.
She graduated from Duquesne High School, class of 1959. She attended nursing school at Montefiore and had taken several art classes later in life. On October 10, 1960, she married Ray Goodish and had three children, Kathleen, Scott, and Elizabeth and casually adopted Paul Montenary. While living in Duquesne for most of her life. she was a homemaker, worked for Avenue News and Merck-Medco until retiring in 2004. Jane had been a resident of Bullskin Twp. Fayette County for the last 12 years. Jane was a member of PA Paint Horse Assoc., Bullskin Twp Historical Society and the Mt. Pleasant Library. She was a staunch republican with a keen interest in politics. Some of her other notable interests were painting, gardening, horses, and especially bird-watching. She will be especially remembered for her quick wit, intelligence, broad smiles and her kind and caring nature. She freely gave to those in need, even when she had little to give. She rarely had a bad word to say about anyone unless she talked politics. “Love is stronger than death, dreams are more powerful than reality, myth outlasts memory, faith banishes fear, hope devours misery, and laughter cures everything but hiccups.” Jane is survived by her three children and their spouses: Kathy Goodish and John Balog of FL, Scott and Nancy Goodish of N. Huntingdon, Beth and Troy Patton of Acme. Paul and Darla Montenary of White Oak. Her grandchildren; Gustav Goodish, Cody Kerns, Jay Kettren, Matthew, Nathaniel and Rebekah Patton. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Shirley Dilla, her cherished nieces and nephews Bernadette Blatnick, Patrick, John and James Dilla. Jane was preceded in death by her husband Ray Goodish, mother, Alice Uhren, father, Steven Lemak and step-father Stephen Uhren. Services will be held Saturday, February 24th at 11 a.m. St John’s United Church of Christ, 1230 Brownstown Rd., Larimer, PA 15647. Interment to follow at Long Run Cemetery N. Huntingdon. Relatives and friends are welcome for repast at Norwin Community Resource Center. The family asks that in remembrance of Jane to please extend an act of kindness to someone in need or lonely.
