Edward “Flip” Phillips, 84, of Little River, SC, and formerly of McKeesport and Elizabeth Borough, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at home. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he retired from the Maintenance Department of the Airbrake Division of Westinghouse in Turtle Creek.
Born March 4, 1934 in DuBois, he was a son of the late Melvel and Hazel (Connor) Phillips and husband of the late Alice (Metzler) Phillips. He is survived by children, Linda (Donald) Paranick of Traverse City, MI; Sharon (David) Melani of Lexington Park, MD; Kenneth (Patricia) Phillips of Monongahela, and Carole Phillips Sever of Herminie;15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; Alice’s children and grandchildren; siblings, Janet Reynolds of McKeesport; George Phillips of Jefferson, OR; Pam Kochman of McKeesport; Dan Phillips of New York, NY; Rick Phillips of Richmond, VA, and Gail Phillips of McKeesport; also survived by his former wife, Joan Teti Dilts. A private ceremony and burial will take place in South Carolina. Local arrangements by the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth.
