Ruth L. (Whitehead) Painter, of North Huntingdon, died Friday May 4, 2018. She was born in Irwin, a daughter of the late Clarence and Vera (Cook) Whitehead and was also preceded in death by her husband Marion C. Painter and a son Calvin C. Painter. Along with her late husband they operated M.C. Painter Excavation. She was a former member of the United Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, Irwin, and formerly active with the Hahntown Women’s Club. She loved the outdoors. Surviving are her children Alan R. (Cynthia) Painter; her daughter in law LaRue Painter; her grandchildren Bria (Kevin) Craycraft, Lindy (Brian) Charney, Roy (Grace) Painter, Matthew Stants Painter (Erin), and Sabrina (David) Rose; also sixteen grandchildren; a sister Loretta (Chuck) Faith of South Carolina; also nieces and nephews.

At her request there will be no viewing. A funeral service with Rev. Bruce Judy officiating and interment in Union Cemetery will be private. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Sanders also the doctors and staff of Forbes Hospital, Excela Westmoreland Hospital, Harmony Rehabilitation, and New Haven Court for all the expert, kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made in her memory to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th St. NW, Washington, DC 20037-1193.
